Terms of Service

Acceptance

By browsing, downloading, or uploading pets you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the gallery. You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your jurisdiction to create an account.

Accounts

You may browse and install pets without an account. To upload a pet you sign in with Google, GitHub, or an email and password, and choose a public username. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Pick a username that does not impersonate someone else.

Uploading pets

When you upload a pet you confirm that you created it or otherwise have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights.

Every upload is validated on the server, stripped to an allowlist of expected files, and re-packed into a canonical package before it is stored or made available for download. Uploads that fail validation are rejected. This protects downloaders, but it does not make us the author of, or responsible for, the artwork or content you submit.

Content & license

You keep ownership of the pets you create. By publishing a pet to the gallery you grant Codogotchi a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reformat (including the server re-pack and thumbnail generation), display, and distribute that pet so that others can view and install it. This license lasts while the pet is listed and ends when the pet is removed, except for copies already downloaded by others.

Community content

Pets in the gallery are community-shared and may be inspired by existing characters or brands. Codogotchi does not claim rights to any character designs shown here, and listing a pet is not an endorsement. If you believe a pet infringes your rights, email admin@codogotchi.app with enough detail to identify the pet and we will review and, where appropriate, unlist it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload malware, exploits, or anything designed to harm a downloader's machine.
• Upload content you do not have the right to share.
• Upload illegal, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit content, or content that targets or endangers others.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
• Abuse, probe, or attempt to disrupt the service, or evade the upload validation and re-pack pipeline.

Operator rights

We may unlist or remove any pet, and suspend or remove any account, at any time and at our discretion — for example for a takedown request, a terms violation, or a safety concern. Unlisting is immediate: the pet disappears from the gallery and its download endpoints. We are not obligated to host any particular pet.

Disclaimer

The gallery and all pets are provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Pets are made by the community; we validate packages for structural safety but do not guarantee their quality, accuracy, or fitness for any purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Codogotchi is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the gallery or any pet you install.

Changes

We may update these terms as the project evolves. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
